Dear community members and friends,
As we await the much-anticipated Spring of 2024, the events to come, as summarized here in our March Newsletter, certainly will be full of excitement.
With the changing of the seasons, we have multiple reasons to celebrate Navroz in our community. First will be the exciting “Nowruz Celebration” event at the ISAC (more details are further down in this newsletter, and the full flyer is also provided towards the end of this newsletter).
We will follow up with our Hamas-path-maedem Gahambar (Panj-e-meh) event (co-hosted by the WZCC Chicago Chapter). The complete flyer can be viewed towards the end of this newsletter. An accompanying informative writeup on the significance of the Gahambars in our religion (compiled by our own Kayomarsh Mehta) is also provided in this newsletter. Finally, we will as a community welcome the new year with a celebration at our ZAMC on March 23.
As a reminder, our annual ZAMC Scholarship is now available, and includes the ZAMC Student Scholarship as well as the Putla Dara Press Endowment Scholarship. The deadline to apply for these scholarships is May 1, and more information on how to apply is provided in this newsletter.
Another highlight of 2024 is this year’s FEZANA AGM, which will be hosted by us at the ZAMC this coming April. We need volunteers for a variety of tasks and events, so please contact our ZAMC President, Jamshed Rivetna, at jamshed.rivetna@zamc.org to join our planning committee.
In addition, a gentle reminder that as 2024 is in full swing, please ensure that your ZAMC membership dues are up-to-date. Going forward, we will be publishing a running list of all membership dues paid for the year in the newsletter. If you’re not in the list but think you should be, please let us know. Your membership can be renewed online by visiting our website.
